Lenten Food Drive

Dear Church Family,

Lent is the period of 40 days before Easter, which falls on April 4, 2021. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter.  Christians replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert.

This Lenten season, the Mission & Stewardship committee is seeking specific items that have been requested by Community Circle Food Pantry and its patrons.  Community Circle Food Pantry’s roots run straight back to FPC 1793, who launched the food pantry over 40 years ago. Community Circle is a vital community asset that serves our local area.

What can you give this season in order to help our neighbors in need?

March 24 is the deadline for dropping off the items at the church.
Please call ahead of time to make sure someone will be at the church when you arrive.
Let us know if you need assistance carrying the items into the church.

Bags will be delivered to Community Circle Food Pantry the week before Easter.

Reusable tote bags are available in the church office.
You are welcome to pick up a tote bag in advance of your shopping
or transfer the items into the tote when you drop your contribution off at the church.

Suggested Food Items for Easter Dinner

Scalloped potato mix Carrots Muffin or quick bread mix
Canned peas or green beans Canned fruit Cake mix
Canned corn Jelly beans Icing/frosting
Canned ham

Please be careful when buying the canned ham.
Do not get the canned ham in the refrigerated meat section
because it will spoil before distribution.
Buy the "shelf-stable" canned ham which is found on the regular grocery shelves.

If you prefer to give money to the Food Pantry instead of purchasing food items,
please send your check to:

First Presbyterian Church

Make sure that you write "Food Pantry" either on the envelope or on the memo section of your check.
